HIBAPRESS – Tangier
The residents of several Tangier neighborhoods are looking forward to the completion of the development works for the Bouhout valley, which cuts through residential areas in the city, amidst growing questions about the fate of the project and the reasons for the stalling of some related workshops.
These demands come in light of the continuation of several deficiencies that raise the concerns of the residents, especially since the project has been allocated financial appropriations of approximately 3 billion centimes, within flood protection programs, which raises expectations regarding the completion of works and the improvement of the valley's condition and its surroundings.
The demands are not limited to treating the waterway and draining rainwater, but also include the rehabilitation of the facades and spaces adjacent to the valley, which contributes to improving the urban landscape and reducing the risks that may threaten the neighboring residential areas.
The demands also aim to clarify the status of the completed and remaining works, and the extent to which the project adheres to technical specifications and bill of quantities, in addition to strengthening supervision and follow-up, in order to achieve the expected goals from this workshop, which concerns one of the most prominent watercourses in the city.
