A delegation from the Royal Court, on Friday, September 4, 2026, oversaw the delivery of a generous royal gift to the Amrani descendants at the mausoleum of the righteous saint Sidi Azzouz in the old city of Taza, on the occasion of commemorating the 28th anniversary of the passing of His Majesty the late King Hassan II, may God have mercy on him.
The royal gift was presented during a religious ceremony held at the mausoleum, in the presence of the Governor of Taza Province, Mr. Rachid Bencheikh, along with the head of the local Scientific Council, the Provincial Delegate for Islamic Affairs, a number of civil and military dignitaries, government officials, elected representatives, heads of some decentralized state departments, and many followers, descendants, and affiliates of the Amrani Zawiya.
This religious occasion served as a moment to recall the significance of mausoleums and Zawiyas in the local spiritual and cultural memory. The ceremony was distinguished by the recitation of eloquent verses from the Holy Quran, in an atmosphere marked by feelings of appreciation and loyalty for this occasion.
On this occasion, the supervisor of the Amrani Zawiya requested the members of the royal delegation to convey messages of sincerity, loyalty, and adherence to the noble Alawite throne, expressing on behalf of the people of the Zawiya and its followers sincere thanks and gratitude for the high royal patronage that surrounds the members of the Zawiya.
The attendees also prayed to Almighty God to protect the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God support him, and to bestow upon him abundant health and well-being, prolong his life, and guide his steps, and to crown his efforts with success in service of the Kingdom's progress and prosperity.
During the ceremony, hands were also raised in prayer and supplication for the souls of the two departed figures of Arabism and Islam, His Majesty the late King Mohammed V and His Majesty the late King Hassan II, may God have mercy on them, asking God Almighty to encompass them with His vast mercy and forgiveness, and to grant them a place in His spacious gardens.
This occasion falls within the religious traditions that accompany the commemoration of the anniversary of the passing of His Majesty the late King Hassan II, with its spiritual and emotional dimensions, and the national memory it embodies, and the continuation of the bond of loyalty between a number of Zawiyas, mausoleums, and state institutions.
