Amidst the complete silence of the local authority representative in the Hay Mohammadi district, the "El Hanka" stadium in Unit 5 has been transformed into a dump for waste and refuse, which are being thrown there openly, visible to all the authority's aides.
Until recently, this stadium was the sole outlet for hundreds of young people from the residents of the Hay Mohammadi El Daoudiyat neighborhood. However, they are now deprived of its use, as it has become occupied by street vendors who have settled there and erected shacks to display their goods.
This is happening a stone's throw from the administrative annex of Hay Mohammadi and not far from the regional governorate headquarters, which has turned the neighborhood into a quasi-rural weekly market, after it was once a model for upscale neighborhoods in the heart of the Red City.
