The General Directorate of National Security issued a decision this morning, Monday, September 7, 2026, to provisionally suspend a police officer working in the Inzegane security district, pending referral to a disciplinary board following the conclusion of the ongoing judicial investigation into the case.
This decision comes in the wake of suspicions that the police officer, who was on his annual leave, was involved in criminal acts, after appearing in a video clip assaulting a woman physically.
Upon receiving the information, a police patrol intervened at the scene, where the individual in question was apprehended while inside his private car accompanied by the victim.
The police officer has been placed under police custody, in support of the judicial investigation that is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of uncovering all the circumstances and details of the incident and determining legal responsibilities.
Initial data indicates that the incident may be related to personal disputes, pending the results of the judicial investigation and the prescribed disciplinary measures.
