The motorcycle squad of the Fifth Security District of the Medina was able to apprehend an individual suspected of involvement in carrying out more than 50 snatch-and-grab thefts targeting citizens in the Sidi Mimoun neighborhood of the Old City.
According to the newspaper's sources, the arrested individual used a modified motorcycle of the (C90) type and made sure to wear a large helmet to conceal his facial features and complicate identification or pursuit by victims and authorities.
The arrest, according to the same sources, took place after field investigations and research conducted by security services to curb these criminal activities. His activity was brought to an end, and the motorcycle used was seized.
The arrested individual has been handed over to the competent security service to complete the judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, with the aim of determining all circumstances of the case and uncovering all criminal acts attributed to him.
