The works of the October session of the Fez Municipality Council witnessed a state of controversy and tension on Tuesday morning, following the attendance of a municipal councilor to the session venue carrying a bag on which the phrase "Sac Party" was written.
Municipal councilor Ali Bouhmedi attended the session's works carrying the aforementioned bag, before submitting his resignation during the opening of the session, a move that sparked widespread reaction within the meeting hall.
Sources from the scene stated that the Authenticity and Modernity Party councilors did not accept the move, considering it to carry an offensive or provocative connotation, which prompted them to withdraw from the session's works in protest against what they considered a political offense.
The incident caused confusion within the council, at a time when the phrase "Sac Party" became the focus of discussion within the October session.
