The early dawn hours of Thursday turned into moments of terror and sadness in Derb Hilali, in the city of El Jadida, after the ceiling of a room suddenly collapsed, resulting in the death of a young man who was inside.
According to the available information, the victim, born in 1999, was sleeping inside the room built on the roof of a house, before its ceiling suddenly collapsed, falling on him and causing fatal injuries.
The incident mobilized various concerned authorities, as local and security authorities, elements of the auxiliary forces, and local officials, along with civil protection teams, rushed to the scene. They immediately began search operations amidst the debris to reach the victim.
After the efforts of the rescue teams, the body of the young man was recovered and transported to the morgue at the Mohammed V Provincial Hospital in El Jadida, while sadness and shock gripped his family and the residents of the neighborhood.
