The Dakhla Atlantic Port project is moving towards strengthening its logistical and energy infrastructure, with an investment of approximately 1.24 billion dirhams allocated for the establishment and equipping of specialized facilities for storing ammonia and liquefied natural gas.
This investment comes as part of the port's strategic components, as it is expected to form a significant logistical and economic platform on the Kingdom's Atlantic coast. It will contribute to supporting industrial and energy activities related to the region, particularly future projects concerning renewable energies, green hydrogen, and its derivatives.
The ammonia and gas storage facilities are of particular importance given the role they can play in securing the necessary infrastructure for receiving, storing, and trading energy products. This enhances the region's attractiveness for investments and strengthens the position of the Dakhla Atlantic Port as an economic and logistical hub in the southern provinces.
The project is considered one of the major undertakings the Kingdom is betting on to enhance the openness of its southern provinces to the Atlantic Ocean, and to develop infrastructure capable of serving commercial exchanges, industrial, and energy activities, in addition to supporting economic integration with the African hinterland.
