Everyone who attended the medal ceremony for the Paris Olympic football teams was surprised that two players from the Moroccan Olympic team did not get the bronze medal.
Moroccan Olympic team players Mehdi Moubarak and goalkeeper Mohamed Reda Osmama failed to win the two bronze medals at the coronation ceremony held at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris after the national team placed third at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Mahdi Mubarak and goalkeeper Mohamed Reda Osmama did not get the bronze medal due to the Olympic Committee awarding 21 medals to the players, while the national elements that reached the podium included 23 players.
The aforementioned players were not nominated for the medal due to their presence on the reserve list of the Sektioui battalion, specifying that they did not play a single minute with the Moroccan Olympic team.
According to the rules of the football competition at the Olympic Games, medals are awarded to 18 players whose names appear on the official list, in addition to 4 players on the reserve list, provided that they are included in the official document for one of the matches.
