Fouzi Lekjaa, a member of the Political Bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), affirmed that the Jerada province requires a different approach to development, one that addresses its economic and social specificities and links its future to the major investment projects underway in the Oriental region.
Speaking at a party meeting on Wednesday, September 16, in Jerada, Lekjaa stated that the next government will be called upon to reconsider the situation of those affected by mining activities. He stressed that addressing the conditions of this group represents a personal commitment to him, given Jerada's historical connection to mining and the social expectations that this activity has created among the population.
He added that the agricultural sector in the province needs special support that takes into account the region's nature and potential, emphasizing the necessity of directing programs and investments capable of strengthening agricultural activity and opening new economic opportunities for the people of Jerada.
The government official highlighted the importance of investing in the energy sector, calling for Jerada to benefit from the energy projects associated with the Nador West Med port. He considered that the investment dynamism linked to this project should extend its impact to the province and contribute to creating new opportunities for development and employment.
Fouzi Lekjaa pledged to defend these priorities within the vision his party presents for the upcoming term, stressing that the election of September 23 holds particular importance because the decision made by voters, according to him, will determine Morocco's choices and orientations until 2031.
