The official spokesperson for Civil Defense stated that on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Civil Defense in Taif Governorate, western Saudi Arabia, responded to the fall of drone debris after it was intercepted and destroyed. The drone was launched by the terrorist Houthi militia.
This resulted in the death of a Yemeni resident, injuries to a Saudi female citizen, and a critically injured resident from Pakistan. Material damage also occurred to several buildings and vehicles.
The terrorist Houthi militia continues to repeat its attacks against Saudi cities, regions, and vital facilities, in a systematic and deliberate targeting of civilians.
In response, Riyadh strongly condemns the continued heinous and deliberate attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia on civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia had previously affirmed that the security of this country, the safety of its territories and assets are an established principle that cannot be compromised, and its legitimate right to defend itself, protect its sovereignty, its citizens, its residents, and its vital interests, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law.
