HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The Casablanca-Settat Regional Company for Multi-Services, in partnership with the Casablanca-Settat region, is contributing to the implementation of an important program aimed at enhancing and generalizing access to drinking water in the centers and douars affiliated with the region, with special attention to rural areas.
This program is part of the National Drinking Water and Irrigation Supply Program 2020-2027, and its total cost is estimated at 350.8 million dirhams, covering studies, technical assistance, and land acquisition.
The program is funded by the Ministry of Interior with an amount of 245.6 million dirhams and the General Directorate of Territorial Collectivities (105.2 million dirhams).
The operations concern several provinces in the region, particularly Settat, Berrechid, Benslimane, El Jadida, and Sidi Bennour. They include supplying 25 centers with drinking water, with a budget of 150 million dirhams, and improving the drinking water supply service for rural populations through interventions in 341 douars, with a budget of 150.8 million dirhams, as well as developing water points in 80 douars, with a budget of 50 million dirhams.
This program addresses a key challenge, which is to reduce spatial inequalities in access to drinking water and bring this essential service closer to rural populations.
Depending on the nature of the projects, the interventions include, in particular, the construction and reinforcement of the necessary infrastructure for supplying the concerned centers and douars with drinking water.
In this context, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Company for Multi-Services is directly responsible for managing projects worth approximately 44 million dirhams, including taxes, in the provinces of Sidi Bennour and El Jadida, from the preparation and awarding of contracts to the follow-up, monitoring, and acceptance of works.
In the province of Sidi Bennour, the projects concern six centers: Sebt El Maarif, Oulad Omrane, Matel, Matrane, Oulad Si Bouhya, and Beni Hilal, with a total cost of 35 million dirhams, including taxes.
These projects include, in particular, the construction and reinforcement of drinking water networks, the construction of elevated water tanks and associated equipment, the establishment of booster pumping stations, and the realization of individual connections. The progress of the works is currently around 90 percent.
In the province of El Jadida, the project, costing approximately 8.6 million dirhams including taxes, involves supplying the center of Sidi Hussein Ben Abderrahmane and six douars belonging to the commune of Oulad Hsin with drinking water.
The project includes, in particular, the construction of 19 kilometers of pipes, nine public fountains, an elevated water tank with a capacity of 150 cubic meters, and the reinforcement of a pumping station, for the benefit of about 1,200 families, representing approximately 6,000 people. The works have been completed.
Through these operations, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Company for Multi-Services plays an integrated operational role in the projects entrusted to it, including carrying out or updating technical studies, preparing and launching tenders, awarding contracts, monitoring and supervising works, accepting facilities, as well as administrative and financial follow-up.
