HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
Several streets and neighborhoods in the city of Agadir, on Wednesday morning, September 23, were covered with the remnants of electoral leaflets and posters, following the end of the election campaign which extended until midnight last Tuesday.
Cleaning crews found themselves facing an additional task of collecting scattered papers and rearranging public spaces, in a scene that revives the debate about managing the aftermath of election campaigns and the extent of respect for the city's cleanliness, especially since election day is supposed to be characterized by organization and celebration in the general scene.
This phenomenon, which recurs during electoral contests, raises questions about the feasibility of excessive paper leaflets, at a time when digital communication tools and direct communication with voters have become widely available.
