The King sends a message to Akhannouch concerning the general population and housing census

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, sent a message to the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, regarding the seventh general population and housing census, scheduled for the end of summer of this year.

Here is the full text of the royal message:

“Praise be to God alone, and prayer and greetings to our Master the Messenger of God, his family and his companions.

Our faithful servant, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government,

May God protect you and guide you on the path of good,

Since we assumed the great responsibility of leading the nation, we have always attached great importance to the general population and housing census and ensured its regular organization.

Given the important and multiple data and indicators that this operation provides, it will make a valuable contribution to the realization of our societal project and the realization of our development model based on the principles of political democracy, economic efficiency , human development, and social and territorial cohesion.

The periodic organization of this operation, every ten years, constitutes a judicious choice which allows us to prepare ourselves well to understand the demographic and socio-economic evolution of our country in a precise manner, to anticipate the changing needs of our citizens, and develop appropriate policies accordingly.

Therefore, we have decided, with the help and blessing of God, to actively engage in it by organizing a new general population and housing census operation, at the end of this summer, the seventh since 1960, which we wish to be creative and ambitious.

We hope it is creative in terms of approach and the technological means that will be mobilized to collect and process information, and ambitious in broadening the areas of research to include new subjects that attract our attention, such as the societal project of generalization of social protection.

Mr Head of Government,

You are not unaware of the strategic importance of this ten-year event, taking into account the objectives sought, and which concerns the entire nation, national and international institutions, political, trade union and economic actors, civil society, as well as Moroccan families. and all foreign communities residing in Morocco.

We have no doubt for a moment that you will spare no effort to ensure the complete success of this major national enterprise which requires, in addition to the general mobilization of significant human and logistical resources, commitment and close and effective coordination on the part of all stakeholders. public administrations and institutions, decentralized services, as well as territorial, regional, provincial and local authorities and communities.

In this regard, we call on the Minister of the Interior, the High Commissioner for Planning, as well as all walis and governors to ensure the optimal implementation of this census, within the set deadlines, and in perfect coordination with other stakeholders in the field.

To ensure the success of this general census, we urge our loyal subjects to cooperate fully and actively participate in this operation of general interest by providing reliable and precise information. We also call on the High Commission for Planning to process and analyze the data collected at the end of the operation, ensuring that decision-makers and stakeholders concerned can access the results and use them as quickly as possible.

This speed in the exploitation of data will make it possible to quickly identify emerging trends in order to develop appropriate public policies and adapt different programs to the interests of our country and the well-being of our people.
