HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) topped the legislative election results, according to the results announced by the Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, after the party obtained 97 seats, placing it in first place within the announced tally.
These results open a serious phase of political consultations regarding the formation of the next government, as the Moroccan constitution stipulates that the King appoints the head of government from the political party that topped the elections for members of the House of Representatives, based on their results.
Consequently, attention will turn in the next phase to the decision to appoint the head of government, before the start of consultations to form the governmental majority and determine the components of the new government.
