The results of the September 2026 legislative elections have redrawn the map of political parties within the House of Representatives, with the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) taking the lead, while the National Rally of Independents (RNI) has dropped to second place, according to the results announced by the Ministry of Interior.
The results show a significant gap of 31 seats between the first and second parties, compared to a gap of no more than one seat between the second and third parties, before the distance widens considerably with the rest of the parties.
Justice and Development (PJD) records a remarkable shift, with its seats increasing from 13 in the 2021 elections to 54 in 2026, regaining a significant part of its parliamentary presence after the major decline it experienced in the previous election.
In contrast, the Independence Party (PI) declined from 81 to 65 seats, while the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) saw its seats drop from 36 to 26. The representation of the Left Alliance also increased from two seats to eight seats.
These figures reveal a clear change in the ranking of political forces and the size of their representation in parliament, compared to the 2021 map.
