HIBAPRESS – Montreal: Aziz El Kanouni
The Canadian city of Laval, last weekend, hosted the annual Moroccan National Festival at "Saint-Maxime" Park, a tradition organized by "Atlas Media" group for over 15 years, since 2010.
This year's edition witnessed the participation of a number of associations and partners in the organization, including the Culture and Diversity Association, the Morocco-Canada Initiative Association, the Moroccan Cyclists Club, and the "Anir" Association for Moroccan Amazighs in Canada.
The festival provided an opportunity for members of the Moroccan community residing in Canada, particularly in the province of Quebec and the Greater Montreal area, which hosts a large gathering of the Moroccan community, to meet, which was reflected in the turnout for this event.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Morocco to Canada, the Consul General of the Kingdom in Montreal, as well as the federal Member of Parliament of Moroccan origin Abdelhaq Sari, and Member of Parliament Monsef Derraji in the Quebec National Assembly, in addition to federal advisors and members, members of the Quebec National Assembly, and other dignitaries.
The festival program included musical performances, alongside speeches delivered by a number of official figures, which addressed the connection to roots and the homeland, and the relationship with the country of residence and stability.
The festival also provided an opportunity for a number of companies and businesses to showcase their products and services to the Moroccan community members participating in the event.
