The judicial police elements in the Anfa security district of the Casablanca security directorate, in the early hours of Saturday, September 26, were able to arrest a woman suspected of committing a fatal traffic accident with the offense of fleeing and under the influence of alcohol, whose victim was a police officer with the rank of security guard while he was performing his duties.
According to the initial investigation information, a police patrol was conducting traffic monitoring operations in the Anfa security district in Casablanca when a speeding car caused the collision of a police officer and fled the scene of the accident, before he died during his transfer to the hospital.
The search operations, and the exploitation of the contents of the surveillance camera carried by the security patrol elements, enabled the identification of the car that caused the accident, the detection of its license plate, and the arrest of its driver involved in committing the accident as a result of advanced drunkenness.
The suspect and a person accompanying her were subjected to judicial investigation procedures supervised by the competent Public Prosecution to uncover all the circumstances and details of the accident, as well as to identify all criminal acts attributed to the individuals concerned.
On the social and professional level, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance issued a decision granting an exceptional promotion to the deceased police officer, a martyr of duty, in recognition of his great sacrifice and in appreciation of his noble services to the security of his country. He also assigned the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel to provide the deceased's family with the necessary support and assistance and to offer condolences for his death.
