HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zerrih
The regional office of the Moroccan League for the Defense of Human Rights in Nador announced the formation of a special regional committee tasked with monitoring, observing, and following up on the electoral process in various polling stations and offices in the region, coinciding with the elections held on September 23, 2026.
The League explained in a statement, which HIBAPRESS received, that this step is part of its human rights and oversight roles aimed at protecting democratic gains and ensuring that electoral stations proceed in an atmosphere of transparency and equal opportunities among all candidates.
In the same context, the regional monitoring committee revealed that during its field follow-up throughout election day, it recorded a series of behaviors and violations it described as worrying, considering that they deeply affect the essence of the democratic process and negatively impact its credibility and transparency in the eyes of public opinion.
The human rights body expressed its strong condemnation and deep concern regarding these recorded practices, emphasizing its complete independence and commitment to monitoring all irregularities objectively and impartially, far from any narrow calculations.
In conclusion, the Moroccan League for the Defense of Human Rights announced that it is in the process of compiling all data and observations to document them in a detailed and comprehensive report. This report will be subsequently submitted to the competent and responsible authorities to demand urgent investigations and the taking of necessary legal and administrative measures to preserve the free will of voters.
