The anti-gang unit of the judicial police services in the Laayoune security directorate, on Tuesday afternoon, October 20, managed to apprehend a 26-year-old individual with a criminal record, suspected of involvement in the possession and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
According to available data, the suspect was arrested in the Al-Qism neighborhood of Laayoune, inside a light vehicle, after it became apparent that he was wanted nationwide for suspected involvement in drug trafficking and alcoholic beverage distribution cases.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of alcoholic beverages, amounting to 353 bottles of various types, including 14 bottles of vodka, 27 bottles of whiskey, and 312 bottles of beer.
The suspect has been placed under police custody as part of a judicial investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution to uncover all circumstances and details of the case, identify the attributed acts, and detect potential ramifications of this activity.
This intervention comes as part of the security operations carried out by the relevant services in the city of Laayoune, aimed at combating the illicit trafficking of drugs and alcoholic beverages, and activating investigation procedures against individuals suspected of involvement in these activities.
