Recent results from drilling work at the Agadir Melloul project have revealed additional indicators of silver, copper, and gold mineralization, while exploration operations are moving towards identifying new metallic targets within the site. British company Critical Mineral Resources (CMR) announced that the latest campaign showed mineralization within a geological structure not identified in previous exploration phases.
The results of exploration drill hole BH174 showed a mineralized section 8 meters long starting from a depth of 63 meters, with a concentration of 0.58 percent copper, 147 grams of silver per ton, and 0.26 grams of gold per ton. A limited part of the section also recorded high concentrations of 10.24 percent copper, 5390 grams of silver per ton, and 2.80 grams of gold per ton. Drill hole BH175 reinforced these indicators with a one-meter section recording 0.72 percent copper and 402 grams of silver per ton.
Preliminary data indicate that the discovered mineralization is associated with a fault structure containing massive sulfides, prompting the company to consider the area an exploration target that may differ from the copper system that was the focus of previous work. However, determining its size and continuity requires continued drilling. Exploration work has also shown progress in tracing copper and silver mineralization between two areas within the project, while drill hole BH160 recorded a section of 10.2 meters with a concentration of 0.72 percent copper.
The company is expected to receive additional laboratory analysis results in the coming weeks, in parallel with the preparation of the first mineral resource estimate for the project according to the international JORC standard. This will help provide a more accurate initial picture of the volume of resources revealed by exploration work to date.
