Mustafa Lakhsam, candidate for the Democratic Social Movement Party in the Safi province constituency, announced, following his topping the legislative election results, that he will not spend the money he intended to allocate for a victory celebration party. Instead, he will dedicate it to buying jackets for children in the villages.
Lakhsam said in a video clip after the results were announced: "The money I was going to use for an election victory party, I will buy jackets for the village children with it."
Lakhsam had topped the legislative election results in the Safi constituency, after obtaining more than 19,000 votes, thus securing a seat in the House of Representatives.
Idris Chbachal, candidate for the Authenticity and Modernity Party, came second with 10,400 votes, while Youssef Mandour came in third with 8,226 votes, according to the final vote count data for the Safi constituency.
