The Selouane road in the Nador province witnessed in the final hours of Sunday a fatal traffic accident that led to the tragic death of a young man in the prime of his life, following a strong collision between a car and an electric bike (scooter) on which the victim was riding.
The heartbreaking accident occurred when road users were surprised by a direct collision between the two vehicles, resulting in the rider of the electric bike sustaining severe and varied injuries that posed an immediate threat to his life.
Despite rescue attempts, the young man died at the scene, succumbing to the force of the impact. His sudden death left his family and everyone who knew him in the region in deep shock and sorrow.
In a serious development of the incident, initial data indicated that the driver of the car involved in the accident deliberately fled the scene of the tragedy immediately after the collision, heading towards an unknown destination without providing the necessary assistance to the victim.
The Royal Gendarmerie and competent authorities immediately went to the scene upon being notified of the accident. They commenced preliminary examination procedures and prepared the necessary reports, while intensive searches and investigations continue to identify the fleeing driver, apprehend him, and establish the applicable legal responsibilities.
