Sorrow and grief have cast a shadow over the Isagen region in the province of Al Hoceima, following the death of film director Samir Boutkoura, a son of the village of Telarouak, as a result of a tragic traffic accident that occurred at dawn today at the entrance to the region.
The deceased had returned to his hometown carrying an artistic project through which he aspired to document the history of the region and evoke the stories of its people and local memory in a cinematic work. However, fate did not allow him to complete this project and bring it to light.
The incident, which occurred while the film crew was in Isagen, resulted in the death of two people, including director Samir Boutkoura, while two others were injured and subsequently transported to receive necessary medical treatment.
Boutkoura's passing left deep shock and sadness among his family members, friends, and acquaintances, especially since he was carrying an artistic project linked to the memory of his hometown and sought to transfer a part of the region's history and its people's stories to the screen.
