Floods that swept through the Karawa region, located on National Road 15 within the territorial jurisdiction of the Saka commune in the Jersif province, on Sunday evening, caused two cars and a truck to veer off course. This incident reflects the dangerous situation the region experienced due to thunderstorm rainfall.
According to available data, the region witnessed strong water flows following significant thunderstorm rainfall that hit the Jersif province since Saturday. This led to water runoff and accumulation on the road, which hampered traffic flow and increased the risks of traveling on this road section.
In a related context, local authorities, led by Saka and in coordination with Royal Gendarmerie elements, intervened to monitor the situation on the ground and assess the repercussions of the floods that hit the region. This was under the prevailing weather conditions in the province and the accompanying water flows that affected traffic on National Road 15.
This incident has once again highlighted the dangers faced by road users during periods of thunderstorms and rising floodwater levels, especially in sections experiencing strong water flows. This necessitates caution and avoiding the risk of crossing water-submerged roads until conditions improve and safe travel is ensured.
