The curtain has not yet definitively fallen on the results of the recent legislative elections in the local constituency of Al-Hay Al-Hassani in Casablanca, after a number of political parties have entered into consultations regarding the possibility of resorting to the judiciary to appeal certain aspects of the electoral process.
According to information obtained by the newspaper from a source familiar with the ongoing consultations, intensive meetings have been held for about three days, with the participation of lawyers, to study a number of facts and data related to the ballot, in addition to examining the available documents and minutes, before making a final decision on whether to appeal or not.
According to the same source, the discussion mainly revolves around the availability of legal elements that can be relied upon before the competent court, emphasizing that any appeal remains contingent on what the competent judicial authorities decide after studying the files and arguments submitted by the concerned parties.
In the event that appeals are submitted, accepted, and their reasons are considered according to the current legal procedures, this may result in different consequences depending on the nature of the violations that the court may prove, without this necessarily meaning the cancellation of results or holding new elections in advance.
These developments come at a time when the results of the Al-Hay Al-Hassani constituency continue to garner political and media attention, after the ballot boxes resulted in the victory of three candidates, while competing parties are preparing to study what they consider observations or facts that may constitute, from their point of view, a basis for an electoral dispute.
