SAP, a global specialist in enterprise applications and business-oriented artificial intelligence, is betting on expanding the use of intelligent technologies to modernize finance and procurement functions within Moroccan companies, enhancing their operational efficiency and competitiveness. This is being achieved through the organization of the SAP Finance & Spend Connect Day 2026 event in Casablanca, with the participation of executives, financial directors, procurement officials, as well as the company's clients and partners.
This meeting comes in an economic context characterized by increasing supply chain complexity, rising cost control pressures, and the need to accelerate decision-making. These factors are driving companies to speed up their digital transformation and develop better methods for managing their resources and operations.
In this regard, the company is showcasing the latest developments in its vision based on the concept of the "Autonomous Enterprise," which aims to integrate artificial intelligence directly into professional processes and applications. This enables a shift from automating traditional tasks to more intelligent, connected, and operationally capable business models, while maintaining human oversight and control over strategic decisions.
Digital Transformation: A Lever for Enhancing the Competitiveness of Moroccan Enterprises
The company emphasizes that digital transformation is a strategic lever for modernizing Morocco's economic fabric and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises both nationally and internationally, in alignment with the objectives of the "Digital Morocco 2030" strategy. This strategy aims to accelerate digitalization, encourage innovation, and solidify the Kingdom's position as a regional technology hub.
In this context, Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), stressed that the speed of AI adoption will be a crucial factor in determining companies' ability to excel in the coming phase.
Tazi explained that the challenge lies in ensuring that the adoption of these technologies is not limited to large conglomerates but also includes very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises. He highlighted the CGEM's responsibility, particularly through its newly established AI committee, to enable all Moroccan enterprises, regardless of their size, to benefit from the ongoing technological transformation.
For his part, Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, General Manager of SAP for French-speaking Africa and Vice President of the Enterprise sector for the Middle East and Africa region, highlighted that artificial intelligence represents a new phase in enterprise transformation, moving from task automation to integrating intelligence directly into professional operations.
He added that this evolution offers Moroccan enterprises an opportunity to enhance operational efficiency, agility, and competitiveness. He affirmed that the company's ambition is to provide technologies capable of delivering tangible and measurable value, while keeping the human element at the core of strategic decisions.
The Moroccan market holds strategic importance for SAP's activities in French-speaking Africa, as the company operates from Casablanca to support its clients and partners in over twenty African markets, through cloud computing solutions, AI-based technologies, and its sector-specific expertise.
Smart Solutions for Developing Finance and Procurement
Among the most prominent innovations showcased by the company are the Joule Work tools, Joule assistants, and the SAP Business AI platform. These are designed to empower organizations to leverage their professional data, automate complex processes, and coordinate activities across different systems.
These solutions are part of the integrated SAP Business Suite ecosystem, which combines professional applications, data, and artificial intelligence to develop more connected and intelligent processes.
In the financial domain, these technologies enable the automation of several processes, improve data reliability, enhance analytical capabilities, and accelerate financial closing and reporting.
SAP ERP Cloud solutions also provide an integrated management infrastructure via cloud computing, helping companies standardize their financial procedures, ensure data consistency, and support broader transformations.
These capabilities are expected to enhance the strategic role of finance departments, enabling them to focus more on risk foresight, data analysis, and supporting decision-making.
In the procurement sector, AI applications offer new opportunities for expense analysis, optimizing sourcing processes, evaluating supplier risks, and enhancing comprehensive visibility across various operations. Solutions like SAP Ariba contribute to digitizing and improving the procurement cycle, fostering collaboration with suppliers, and increasing spending control.
This approach is based on the integration of human elements and intelligent technologies, where human teams define directions and priorities, while intelligent assistants coordinate processes and intelligent agents execute tasks, with continuous human oversight of workflows and decisions.
Moroccan Industrial Sectors Moving Towards Greater Digitalization
According to the company, digital transformation is not limited to finance and procurement functions but extends to strategic industrial sectors facing increasing demands in quality, traceability, cost control, and performance improvement.
In this regard, the pharmaceutical sector stands out as an area where digitalization is crucial, given the need to enhance compliance with regulatory standards, ensure quality, and guarantee process traceability.

He explained that SAP solutions contribute to modernizing processes, enhancing overall activity visibility, and ensuring the reliability of information needed for decision-making.
He added that the gradual integration of intelligent technologies opens new horizons for continuing this transformation and supporting the group's operational excellence goals.
In the mining sector, digitalization is emerging as a tool to enhance competitiveness, improve operational performance and sustainability, as well as expand data utilization capabilities and integrate AI into industrial processes.
In this context, Youssef Chafai, Procurement Director at Maghreb Steel, explained that the shift towards a lower-carbon economy necessitates higher levels of responsiveness and transparency.
He pointed out that adopting the RISE with SAP solution has helped standardize processes and enhance the company's ability to transform data into actionable decisions.
