The National Arbitration and Ethics Committee of the Authenticity and Modernity Party has decided to freeze the membership of the party's regional secretary in the province of Tangier-Assilah, and the head of the Tangier Municipal Council, in all party structures, in connection with the actions attributed to him related to the events that witnessed the electoral process in the electoral district of Tangier-Assilah province on September 23, 2026.
The committee stated, in a statement issued in Rabat on October 2 of the current month, that the freezing decision was issued in disciplinary file number 2.26, based on the referral it received from the party's Political Bureau regarding the actions attributed to the concerned party, in accordance with Article 149 of the party's basic system.
The committee affirmed its commitment to respecting the independence of the judiciary and the presumption of innocence, noting that disciplinary responsibility remains independent of criminal responsibility, which is only proven by the issuance of a final judicial decision that has acquired the force of res judicata.
The decision comes in the context of the competent judicial authorities opening an investigation into the events related to the electoral process that took place in the electoral district of Tangier-Assilah province on September 23 last.
