HIBAPRESS Oujda
A young man was subjected to a serious physical assault, accompanied by violent robbery and his car being pelted with stones by a group of motorcycle users, on Friday evening (around 9 PM), on Al-Nakheel Street opposite Al-Quds Garden and near Mohammed I University in the city of Oujda.
According to information provided by the victim's brother in communication with our publication, the details of the incident stem from the victim using his car horn to alert motorcycle riders to the need to respect the right of way, which angered the assailants. They entered a state of hysteria and chased the car until it stopped at a traffic light (red light).
The same source added that the perpetrators deliberately rained stones on the car's body, causing severe material damage. The situation then escalated to a direct physical assault on the driver, and his mobile phone was snatched under threat of violence before they fled to an unknown destination.
Upon being notified of the incident, security services arrived at the scene to assess the damage and take initial reports regarding these criminal acts. An investigation has been opened to pursue those involved and identify them.
The victim's brother confirmed that the concerned individual, along with witnesses, is expected to file a formal complaint with the competent security services on Monday morning, supported by medical certificates proving the duration of incapacitation and injuries resulting from this assault.
In this context, residents and local activists in Oujda reiterate their demands for increased security patrols around the university complex and Al-Nakheel Street, and for a firm stance against motorcycle users who deliberately engage in reckless riding and threaten the safety and property of citizens.
