The National Council of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) unanimously authorized Fatima Ezzahra Al-Mansouri, the national coordinator of the collective leadership of the party's General Secretariat and the designated head of government, to manage the negotiations with political parties regarding the formation of the next government, in all its details. This decision was the fifth point in the closing statement of the extraordinary session held by the party on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Conference Palace in Skhirat.
In its closing statement, the party's National Council expressed its appreciation for what it described as the spirit of national responsibility demonstrated by the political parties during the ongoing negotiations. It authorized Al-Mansouri to manage the next phase on behalf of the party, within the context of consultations aimed at forming the new government following the legislative elections held on September 23.
The decision came after the National Council meeting to discuss the election results and the implications of Al-Mansouri's appointment as head of government and her mandate to form it. The party dedicated a part of its session's work to evaluating the electoral results and considering the political challenges associated with the upcoming phase.
In this context, the National Council expressed its pride in Al-Mansouri's appointment as head of government, considering the royal decision as an embodiment of care for the status of women within institutions, and commending the political path Al-Mansouri has accumulated within the party and on the national scene.
The Council also congratulated the party's female and male activists and supporters on the results achieved in the recent elections, considering them, in its assessment, to reflect the reach of its political and societal project among segments of society. This performance was attributed to the work of the party's institutions, the achievements of its ministers during their previous government participation, and the electoral program it ran with in the elections.
The statement, in contrast, praised the conditions under which the elections were held, noting what it described as the efforts of the Moroccan administration in preparing for the electoral process, the legal reforms, coordination with political actors, as well as the logistical, material, and digital mobilization. The party considered that these efforts contributed to the elections passing in what it described as transparent conditions.
Regarding the irregularities that accompanied the voting process, the National Council indicated that what it described as limited slip-ups are subject to judicial investigation and administrative inquiry, warning against their exploitation, according to its expression, to cast doubt on the country's image or diminish the efforts made to organize the elections.
The party concluded its statement by affirming the authorization of Al-Mansouri to manage the negotiations for the formation of the next government in all its details, to lead this phase on behalf of the party, coinciding with the commencement of political consultations related to the formation of the governmental majority.
