In Agadir, renovation work is ongoing at the Grand Stadium "Adrar", as part of a large-scale project aimed at modernizing this sports facility and enhancing its readiness to host major football events, most notably the 2030 World Cup finals.
The ongoing work includes the removal of parts of the stands and internal facades, as well as the re-engineering of the stadium pitch. Its level is expected to be lowered by about four meters and the rubber track removed, which will allow for the stands to be brought closer to the pitch and improve visibility for fans.
The project also includes increasing the seating capacity from approximately 41,000 to 46,000 seats, building a panoramic roof covering the stands, as well as creating new hospitality facilities and updating technical and service equipment.
These transformations are intended to give the "Adrar" stadium a new look that is significantly different from its previous state, as highlighted by the comparison between images of the stadium before the start of the work and current images documenting the progress of demolition and redevelopment.
According to the circulating data, the project completion period is set at about 18 months, with work continuing in stages until all equipment and facilities are completed.
