HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The National Agency for Road Safety (NARSA) has announced the adoption of a new measure aimed at simplifying the procedure for submitting vehicle ownership transfer files and facilitating access to administrative services, by expanding the options for submitting files for beneficiaries.
The agency explained in a press release that this measure allows any person who has acquired a previously registered vehicle in Morocco according to the usual procedure to submit the ownership transfer file at the registration department affiliated with their place of residence, or at the department affiliated with the seller's place of residence, instead of being limited to the department associated with the buyer's place of residence, as was previously the case.
This development, according to the same source, comes in application of Article 106 of Decree No. 2.24.393, amending Decree No. 2.10.421, and in implementation of the provisions of Law No. 52.05 concerning the Highway Code, particularly the provisions related to the procedure for submitting vehicle ownership transfer files.
This measure aims to provide greater flexibility for beneficiaries in choosing the place of file submission, facilitate access to administrative services, and reduce travel constraints, especially when purchasing vehicles from sellers residing in areas far from the buyers' place of residence.
In the same context, NARSA indicated the possibility of submitting vehicle ownership transfer files at Barid Al Maghrib and Barid Cash branches affiliated with the seller's or buyer's place of residence, which enhances the diversification of channels for providing this service and bringing it closer to citizens.
