HIBAPRESS – Berkane
The administrative division of Fezwan (Er-Rkadah area) in the province of Berkane witnessed, on Monday, October 5th, a work accident that claimed the life of a worker in his forties, married with several children, after sustaining severe injuries while performing his duties.
According to local sources, the victim was employed by a company in the area before being run over by a "Nibelus" type machine as it moved within the workshop. The incident is likely due to the machine operator not noticing the worker's presence at the location.
The accident resulted in the victim sustaining injuries described as "severe" and "critical" to the head, hands, and chest. Despite being quickly transported by ambulance to the Deraq Provincial Hospital in Berkane to receive necessary treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.
Upon being notified of the accident, local authorities and the Royal Gendarmerie arrived at the scene. A judicial investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecution to ascertain the precise circumstances and details of the accident.
