HIBAPRESS – Abdel Latif El Baze
The Italian newspaper "Il Sole 24 Ore" has shed light on the historic residence built in Tangier at the beginning of the 20th century for Sultan Moulay Hafid, which over the years has become one of the most prominent testimonies to the Italian presence in the city, and a space that combines historical memory and cultural influence.
According to the newspaper, this landmark today hosts artistic and cultural exhibitions, while preparations are underway to celebrate its memory through the release of a photographic book by photographer Massimo Listri, documenting aspects of the building's history and its architectural and cultural symbolism.
In this context, the Italian Ambassador Salzano affirmed that the building embodies the history of human, cultural, and social relations that linked the two shores of the Mediterranean Sea, pointing to the role of mobility and interaction between peoples in building bridges of communication between cultures.
The Italian interest in this historic landmark highlights the position Tangier occupies as a space for civilizational exchange, and a meeting point for multiple cultures that have left their mark on the city's history and its architectural and social identity.
