HIBAPRESS – Tetouan
In a precedent that is the first of its kind in the history of the International Oud Festival in Tetouan, an orchestra comprising 51 male and female musicians is preparing to present the "Tamaghrabit" symphony. This initiative is under the artistic direction and coordination of researcher and music artist Professor Mohamed Amine Doubi, during the festival's closing ceremony, coinciding with the first anniversary of the Unity Day, which falls on October 31, 2026.
This orchestra brings together male and female artists from the twelve regions of the Kingdom, in a musical performance that features the oud as its centerpiece, with the participation of piano, cello, harp, qanun, rebab, violin, and various string instruments, celebrating Moroccan musical diversity and the authenticity of national heritage. The International Oud Festival in Tetouan continues to present a variety of artistic performances, with a focus on valuing the authentic Moroccan oud and highlighting the talents of Moroccan musicians, thereby strengthening the status of this musical instrument in the national cultural and artistic scene.
