Mesbah Ahmed – El Jadida
As part of the ongoing field efforts by the Royal Gendarmerie to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking networks, and in a preemptive security strike, the province of El Jadida witnessed a qualitative security operation on Tuesday night, around 9:15 PM. The operation successfully thwarted an illegal immigration attempt on the beach of "Douar El Achichat," affiliated with the local commune of Oulad Ghanem, in the province of El Jadida.
The details of the intervention stem from the success of the coastal surveillance patrols of the Royal Gendarmerie unit in Oulad Ghanem, with field support from elements of the Sidi Ismail and Moulay Abdellah centers, and in coordination with the competent local authority, in detecting suspicious movements and nipping the operation in the bud.
This successful operation comes in the context of a well-executed implementation of the strict field directives issued by the Regional Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie in El Jadida, who oversaw the enhancement of the readiness of field teams and the activation of a proactive plan based on precise sweeping techniques and immediate coordination between the various neighboring units. This enabled tightening the grip on the province's coastal areas and blocking the smuggling networks.
This field intervention resulted in the seizure of: a traditionally made boat prepared for sailing; and 8 gasoline containers (20 liters capacity each).
Furthermore, intensive sweeping and search operations conducted by security elements in the area adjacent to the beach led to the identification and arrest of 16 candidates for illegal immigration, including 4 women and one minor.
The field teams of the Royal Gendarmerie continue their sweeping operations in the area to ensure the complete security of the coastline, with continuous monitoring of the situation and the taking of necessary legal measures, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution.
