The French company "Harmattan AI" has signed an agreement with the Moroccan Directorate of National Defense to develop and produce drones within Morocco.
The system, according to the data provided by the company, goes beyond traditional reconnaissance missions, as it is designed to carry out long-range strikes with a range of approximately 2000 kilometers.
A region near Casablanca will host the expected factory for the system's production, as part of a project that the company says aims for its complete manufacturing in Morocco, not just the assembly of its components.
The company confirmed that the core technological components of the system will be developed and produced locally, relying primarily on Moroccan expertise and human resources, which will enable the creation of national capabilities in advanced defense industries.
The project comes as an extension of an agreement announced in June 2026, which stipulated the development of manufacturing capabilities and the launch of research and development activities in Morocco, while the company has already begun recruiting engineers in the capital, Rabat.
