HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
The Popular Movement party expressed its pride in the content of the Royal High Speech on the occasion of the opening of the parliamentary autumn session, considering that it includes strategic directives that outline the features of the next stage and place various institutions and political actors before the responsibility of continuing the development process and strengthening social and spatial justice.
The party affirmed, in its position on the content of the Royal Speech, that building a rising Morocco economically, socially just, and spatially balanced requires placing the citizen at the heart of public policies, and working to ensure a more equitable distribution of the fruits of development among the various regions of the Kingdom, in a way that meets the expectations and aspirations of citizens.
The Popular Movement stressed that the primary challenge is not limited to achieving positive economic growth rates, but goes beyond that to translate these indicators into tangible results in the daily lives of citizens, through creating job opportunities, improving purchasing power, enhancing the quality of public services, and strengthening trust in institutions, especially among youth and social groups that aspire to greater equity and equal opportunities.
In a related context, the party highlighted the importance of moving towards a renewed approach to advanced regionalization, making spatial justice a focus of public policies, with special attention given to rural areas, mountainous regions, oases, and areas that still face challenges related to development and access to basic services.
The party considered that achieving comprehensive and sustainable development requires overcoming spatial disparities and ensuring that various regions benefit from public projects and programs, thereby strengthening the principle of equal opportunities and enshrining the right to a dignified life, away from any disparity in benefiting from the fruits of development.
The Popular Movement also called for a shift from the logic of announcing programs and promises to the logic of actual implementation and evaluation of results, linking responsibility with accountability, and directing public resources towards the true priorities of citizens, thereby ensuring efficiency in managing national potential and avoiding the waste of developmental time.
In this regard, the party stressed the importance of the legislative term being a stage for strengthening listening to societal concerns and re-establishing the value of political and institutional work, by evaluating public policies and measuring their direct impact on citizens' living conditions, and transforming strategic directives into practical, implementable, and evaluable actions.
On the foreign policy level, the party commended what it considered to be the sophistication and maturity of the Kingdom's diplomatic approach, emphasizing the importance of addressing issues of a sovereign nature, including the migration file, within a framework that preserves national interests while also respecting historical bonds of friendship and principles of good neighborliness with Spain.
The Popular Movement's position concluded that the current stage requires collective mobilization and shared responsibility among the government, parliament, political parties, and various institutions and actors, in order to consolidate a more equitable development model, making social dignity, equal opportunities, and spatial justice fundamental pillars in the national development process.
