HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
The Boukidane region, part of the Ait Yousef Ou Ali commune in the Al Hoceima province, has been witnessing, since the early hours of this morning, a wide-ranging security campaign conducted by the Royal Gendarmerie. According to local information, the campaign targets individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, particularly hard and dangerous types.
According to local sources, the operation involved field movements and pursuits in several locations suspected of being linked to drug trafficking activities. This is within a security context aimed at curbing the spread of this phenomenon, which has become a growing concern among the population.
The sources indicate that these actions follow repeated complaints and calls from parents of students, who have expressed their fears about the increasing prevalence of drug dealing and consumption around educational institutions, and the potential risks this poses to adolescents and youth.
The operation also included sweeping several areas locally described as "black spots," a move that was met with relief by a number of residents in the region, who hope these campaigns will continue regularly and lead to a reduction in the activity of drug dealers.
The residents look forward to this security operation marking the beginning of a broader and sustainable initiative, encompassing various areas that may witness similar phenomena. This would contribute to protecting youth and students, enhancing the sense of security, and making Boukidane, Beni Bouayach, Imzouren, and Al Hoceima spaces for knowledge, development, investment, and tourism, far from all forms of drug trafficking.
