HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Zerbouh
In a step that embodies the continuous care for the humanitarian and rights-based dimension of inmates, the administration of the local prison in Nador organized, on Sunday, October 11, 2026, a multidisciplinary medical caravan. This initiative was carried out in strategic partnership with the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners. This distinguished initiative falls within the framework of efforts aimed at strengthening the healthcare system within correctional facilities, and affirming the inherent right of every inmate to facilitate access to specialized medical treatments and examinations.
This comprehensive health campaign covered a wide spectrum of vital specialties to meet the diverse needs of the inmates, including general medicine, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and rheumatology, urology, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiology, psychiatry, dermatology, and respiratory diseases, thus ensuring broad and integrated medical coverage.
The launch of this event was marked by the significant presence of the Director of the Local Prison in Nador, the Provincial Delegate for Health, a representative from the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners, alongside a group of medical, nursing, and administrative staff who oversaw the success of this humanitarian endeavor. The medical team continued to provide its services throughout the day amidst tight organization, ensuring that the largest possible number of beneficiaries underwent the necessary examinations and received appropriate care for each case.
This health initiative reaffirms the effectiveness of the participatory approach between various national institutions in improving the services provided to inmates, which effectively contributes to the prevention and early detection of diseases, and directly supports rehabilitation and community reintegration programs, by building a prison environment that embraces individuals and preserves their health and psychological dignity.
