HIBAPRESS – Ahmed El Masaad
The city of Oujda is preparing to host the 15th edition of the Maghrebi International Film Festival, from October 16 to 21, under the slogan "When the World Darkens, Cinema Illuminates," thereby reinforcing its role as a cultural platform and a meeting space for filmmakers and audiences since its inception in 2012.
The festival management announced the juries for this edition, with Moroccan director and screenwriter Nour-Eddine Lakhmari heading the feature film jury alongside prominent figures from Senegal, Tunisia, Madagascar, and France. Meanwhile, director Adil Fadhili will preside over the short film jury, with actresses from Congo and Italy participating.
As part of its cultural project development, the "Cine Maroc" association has revealed the signing of new institutional and cultural partnerships and memorandums of understanding, aiming to enhance training and seek bridges of communication between academia, professionals, and cultural institutions.
This edition seeks to invest in youth potential by providing continuous training and mentoring pathways throughout the year, enabling emerging talents to access the cinema and audiovisual field, and supporting cultural and digital industries in the Oriental region.
