HIBAPRESS
The Progress and Socialism Party announced its support for the new government program, considering that it reflects the preparatory discussions among the majority components and embodies their common will to give new impetus to reform and respond to citizens' expectations.
The party explained, in a statement issued by its political bureau following its regular meeting on Monday, October 19, that it appreciates the consultative and negotiation process that led to the formation of the new majority and government, noting that this process took place in an atmosphere of trust, positive spirit, and consideration of the public interest.
The party expressed its satisfaction with the results of the consultations, given what it described as factors of homogeneity and harmony among the majority components, and the steps that contributed to investing in the common ground between the programs of the four parties, leading to the formulation of a common platform that frames the reform vision and practical measures for the next five years.
In this context, the political bureau congratulated Charafat Afailal, Mohamed Nabil Benabdellah, and Rachid Hammouni on assuming ministerial responsibilities in what it described as essential government sectors, expressing its wishes for their success.
The party positively noted the government program's commitments in the areas of consolidating democracy, the rule of law and freedoms, fighting corruption and rent-seeking, ethicalizing public life, establishing the social state, integrating youth into education, training, and decent employment, as well as strengthening Morocco's strategic sovereignty and international influence, and building an economy capable of financing social and sovereign ambitions.
Progress and Socialism called on the government to move to the stage of work, implementation, and achievement, in partnership with various actors, vital forces, socio-economic partners, and civil society components, while respecting the role of the institutional opposition.
The party affirmed that it will maintain its commitment to solidarity within the majority, while continuing its political roles in framing, field struggle, and advocating for issues concerning the nation and citizens, considering that mass struggle and institutional work are complementary paths.
The political bureau also renewed its pride in the party's parliamentary group, calling on it to assume its roles in legislation, monitoring government work, and evaluating public policies, within the framework of majority cohesion and advocating for citizens' causes.
The party congratulated Ahmed Abbadi on his selection as head of the parliamentary group, Maryam Ouahsa on her assumption of the position of Vice-President of the House of Representatives, and Hassan Derham on chairing the Committee on Education, Culture, and Communication in the same council.
