HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Baraka
Local authorities affiliated with the Third Administrative District in the city of Agadir launched, on Friday and Saturday, a field campaign to free public property and put an end to the illegal occupation of sidewalks and public spaces, as part of efforts to regulate the urban environment and preserve the aesthetic appeal of the tourist area.
This operation, which was attended by authority auxiliaries, elements of the auxiliary forces, monitoring services, administrative police, and the cleaning sector affiliated with the Agadir municipality, covered a number of vital points, including the Agadir Bay area, Oued Sous and 20 August streets, as well as parts of the coastal strip. The interventions resulted in the seizure of a number of goods, equipment, and furnishings that were being used to occupy public spaces and obstruct the movement of pedestrians and visitors, and the seized items were transferred to the municipal pound to complete the applicable legal and administrative procedures. This campaign is part of a series of interventions aimed at enforcing the law and regulating commercial activities, with aspirations for the continuation of these operations to ensure the smooth movement of citizens and preserve the attractiveness of the Agadir Corniche as one of the city's most prominent tourist spaces.
