Residents of Az-Zinat commune, in the Tetouan province, have sent a request to the province's governor, appealing for urgent intervention to complete the paving of the road connecting Al-Khrazza village and Al-Hajri mosque. The halt in work on this section has caused dissatisfaction and raised questions among the local population.
In a letter dated October 6, 2026, the residents explained that several adjacent road sections have undergone rehabilitation and paving, while the section between Al-Hajri mosque and Al-Khrazza village remained outside these works, despite its importance for the daily commutes of citizens.
The letter confirmed that the residents had initially welcomed the completion of the road connecting Moulay Abdelsalam Ben M'chich to Al-Hajri mosque, along with the paving of other road sections. However, the failure to complete this specific segment has revived questions about the reasons for its exclusion from the project.
The requesters believe that completing this road would improve residents' commuting conditions, facilitate their access to essential facilities and services, enhance road safety, and alleviate the area's isolation.
In this context, the residents of Az-Zinat commune have appealed to the Governor of Tetouan province to intervene with the relevant authorities, in coordination with the commune and the competent administrative and technical services, to assess the road section's situation on the ground and determine the necessary measures to complete its work as soon as possible.
The residents also emphasized the importance of adopting the principle of fairness and balance in programming infrastructure projects, ensuring that all villages within the commune benefit from essential amenities and that citizens' expectations for improved living conditions are met.
The demand to complete this road, as expressed by the residents in their letter, is directed at the competent authorities to find a practical solution to this issue, alleviating the suffering of the population and promoting local development in the Az-Zinat commune.
