The Regional Investment Center of Fez-Meknes continues its efforts to enhance the attractiveness of industrial investment in the region, by supporting project holders and facilitating their access to industrial real estate, through organizing an awareness meeting in the city of Meknes yesterday, Monday, for investors whose projects have been selected to benefit from land plots in the Isslan industrial zone.
This meeting comes after the expression of interest request launched by the center from June 29 to July 20, 2026, with the aim of responding to the increasing demand for industrial real estate and providing the appropriate conditions for the implementation of investment projects capable of contributing to boosting the local economy and creating job opportunities.
According to the data related to this process, the study of 131 files by the selection committee resulted in the selection of 79 projects, representing about 60 percent of the total files studied, with expectations of reaching the volume of anticipated investments at 664.69 million dirhams, and creating 2391 direct jobs.
These projects cover a total area of approximately 17 hectares, distributed over 88 land plots, while the number of projects approved by the Unified Regional Investment Commission reached 40 projects out of the 79 selected projects.
The selection committee, which includes representatives from the Meknes Prefecture, the Regional Investment Center of Fez-Meknes, Al Omrane Company, the Meknes Municipality, the Regional Directorate of Industry, and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, adopted a set of criteria in evaluating and ranking the files.
These criteria include the expected investment volume, the number of jobs to be created, the proportion of self-financing, as well as the export-oriented nature of the projects, taking into account the nature and specifics of the proposed industrial activities when allocating land plots, to ensure better management of available real estate and its direction towards projects of economic value.
The awareness meeting was an opportunity to provide clarifications to investors regarding the provisions of the investment charter, available support mechanisms, eligibility criteria and selection standards, as well as the required documents to complete the application files and the adopted procedures leading to the signing of land plot acquisition contracts.
The meeting was attended by more than 30 investors, who had the opportunity to ask their questions and inquire about various administrative and technical aspects related to the implementation of their projects, as part of the accompaniment aimed at simplifying procedures and clarifying the commitments associated with benefiting from industrial real estate.
Regarding the implementation timeline, selected project holders must complete their investment programs within 24 months from the date of obtaining the building permit.
This process reflects the focus on strengthening the industrial real estate supply in Meknes, and attracting new investments capable of supporting the local and regional economic fabric. It also presents the selected projects with the challenge of transitioning from the stage of accompaniment and administrative procedures to the stage of actual implementation, ensuring the transformation of announced investments into production units and tangible job opportunities for the benefit of the region's population.
