HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister of Economy, Finance, and Public Administration Reform, criticized statements made by some MPs regarding the government's program and its commitment to its promises, considering them to contain inaccurate information that could mislead citizens about the reality of government directions.
Lekjaa explained that the draft finance law for 2027 had not yet been presented to the deputies, yet some MPs quickly declared that the government had backed down on its promises, questioning the basis on which they made such statements before reviewing the project's contents.
The minister added that he did not understand how statements of this nature could be made before the official data related to the draft finance law was presented, indicating the necessity of relying on the actual numbers and content of the project when evaluating government policies and their commitment to their obligations.
Lekjaa's statements came during the joint plenary session held by the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, in accordance with the provisions of Article 68 of the Constitution, on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives, which was dedicated to the presentation of the draft finance law for the fiscal year 2027 by the Minister of Economy, Finance, and Public Administration Reform.
