Marseille coach shocks Amin Harit and Ezzedine Ouanahi
Italian Roberto De Zerbi, French football coach of Olympique de Marseille, has made a decisive decision with Moroccan star Amine Harit and his compatriot Azzedine Ounahi, ahead of the start of the new 2024-2025 football season.
Harith disappeared from the Marseille coach’s accounts because it was becoming difficult for the Moroccan player to guarantee his starting place.
It seems that Amine Harit will have two options without a third: either wait by occupying the reserve seat and try to impose himself on technical director De Zerbe every time he comes on, or look for another club to avoid the cold bench of the reserves representing the south of France.
Harith was considered one of the most prominent players in the Marseille ranks last season, but De Zerbe now has a different view, having decided to restructure the squad as he sees fit.
Amin Harit is very popular among Olympique de Marseille fans, who pushed in the summer of 2023 to buy out his contract permanently, having played for the French club on loan from Schalke 04 in Germany.
The website “Foot Mercato” reports that De Zerbe has decided to remove Harit, as well as Azzedine Ounahi, from the main list.
The same site reports that De Zerbe made his decision early in the countdown to the start of the new season, and that Harith and Ounahi are not considered essential to the team, after the former Schalke player failed to impose his position within the team. 4-2-3-1 system adopted by the Italian coach, which requires him to sit on the bench.
The French site pointed out that Harit’s situation has led Marseille to include him on the list of names that could leave, and that keeping him could suit coach De Zerbe to count on him to replace him.
Foot Mercato have confirmed that Harit’s chance of leaving remains valid, but Marseille have not yet received any official offer regarding the player.
