Paris Saint-Germain opened the new season of the French Ligue 1 competition with a huge victory over hosts Le Havre, 4-1.
Luis Enrique came on as a substitute in the match, with Moroccan Achraf Hakimi as team captain, replacing Brazilian Marquinhos, who started the match as a reserve.
Paris Saint-Germain started their encounter in the best possible way, opening the scoring after just under three minutes following a counter-attack launched from their area. The ball reached Ashraf Hakimi, who passed it to Goncalo Ramos on the edge of the penalty area, and he passed it to South Korea’s Kang-In Lee, who fired it into the net with his left hand.
Saint-Germain suffered a major blow with the injury to striker Ramos, who was forced to make way in the 20th minute for Kolo Mwani, who was on course to score the visitors’ second goal but the crossbar intervened to block his header after a cross from captain Hakimi in the 23rd minute.
Le Havre levelled the game in the 48th minute when Christopher Obiri took a free-kick and laid the ball off to Gautier Lloris, who followed it up with his left foot past Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, taking advantage of Enrique’s poor defensive coverage.
With 5 minutes left in the match, the Parisian offensive machine moved and the team regained the advantage by scoring the second goal in the 85th minute, scored by Ousmane Dembélé, then Bradley Barkola added the third goal in the 86th minute.
Randall Kolo Mwani concluded the goal festival by scoring the fourth goal in the 90th minute, from the penalty spot.
