Raja begin their Champions League return by beating the Nigerian National Guard 2-1

Raja Athletic Team began their return to the African Champions League by beating their hosts, the Nigerian National Guard (2-1), in the match that brought the two teams together on Saturday for the first leg of the first preliminary round of the competition.

Raja Athletic Club managed to open the scoring, thanks to Saber Bougrin, in the 20th minute, before the home team managed to equalize in the 36th minute from a penalty.

The green team continued its search for opportunities to add a second goal, through offensive attempts, and it achieved it in the 65th minute, through Marwan Zeila, with an assist from Adam Al-Nafati.

The two teams will meet again in the return match of this round at the Larbi Zaouli stadium in Casablanca next Saturday.
