HIBAPRESS
Today marked the start of the MASAC Football Championship at the American School of Marrakech, which will run from November 14th to 15th, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The tournament will feature opening matches for both boys and girls, in an educational and sporting atmosphere that combines the spirit of competition and educational development.
Participating in the championship are the American School of Marrakech (ASM), the American School of Tangier (AST), George Washington Academy (GWA), the American School of Rabat (RAS), the American School of Casablanca (CAS), the American Academy of Casablanca (AAC), the Al-Akhawayn School in Ifrane (ASI), and the American Cooperative School of Tunis (ACST), with both girls' and boys' teams. This broad participation reflects educational and cultural diversity within a shared sporting space, where students are given the opportunity for fair competition, exchange of experiences, and openness to different educational experiences.
Since its establishment in 1990, the MASAC program at the American School has formed a leading educational platform dedicated to developing students' abilities through sports. Over the years, it has organized various events and activities aimed at building students' personalities, enhancing team spirit, and developing their leadership and resilience skills. The MASAC experience has not been limited to improving athletic performance; it has also worked to instill essential life values that enable young people to balance academic success and personal growth.
The American School of Marrakech is one of the leading educational institutions in the Kingdom, as it adopts a 100% American curriculum that complies with the highest international standards, while taking into account the specifics of the Moroccan environment. This balance allows students to benefit from a global education similar to that of major international schools, without separating from their cultural and social roots. The school administration believes that such events represent a real opportunity for students to open up to other schools and cultures, and to acquire diverse experiences that broaden their horizons and enhance their maturity within an educational space that combines competition and learning.
The organizers of MASAC at ASM believe that sport is not just a physical activity, but an essential educational pillar that contributes to building the student's personality, enhancing psychological and physical balance, and developing leadership and teamwork skills. It also motivates students to be disciplined and diligent, and teaches them to take responsibility inside and outside the field, which makes sport a school of values before it is a pursuit of victory.
The boys' football team formation at the American School
The players of the team were selected after precise football and technical tests, where several criteria are taken into consideration: talent, individual technical skills, teamwork skills, in addition to school points, academic excellence, and behavior and discipline. All these elements are taken into account to select the official members of the team, to ensure the formation of a team that represents the school in the best image on both the sporting and educational levels.
The championship includes competitions for girls' and boys' championships, in addition to an integrated program of matches and accompanying activities, which gives students the opportunity to interact, exchange experiences, and open up to multiple cultures, within an educational framework that combines competition, learning, and building relationships.
By integrating sports with education, MASAC has played a pivotal role in forming a balanced generation within the American School, capable of excelling in their academic and sporting paths. The experience confirms that sport is not just a competition, but a school of values, and a gateway to acquiring communication skills, respect for others, teamwork, and building self-confidence.
The MASAC championship at the American School of Marrakech renews its message cycle after cycle: that sport is a tool to build the student and the person before it is a pursuit of victory. With the participation of this large number of Arab and American schools, this event continues to inspire students, broaden their horizons, and promote the spirit of competition and excellence within an environment that combines fun, education, and values-based formation.
